Job Tags allow you to categorize and organize jobs within Sera, making it easier to filter, track, and manage work more efficiently. Tags appear as visual labels on jobs, helping teams quickly identify specific job types, priorities, or special requirements. By using Job Tags, you can improve scheduling, reporting, and workflow management.
What Are Job Tags?
Job Tags function similarly to Customer Tags but are specific to individual jobs. These tags can help you distinguish job types, track progress, and highlight key details that need special attention. Whether you’re marking priority jobs, warranty work, or special equipment needs, Job Tags provide a flexible and visual way to manage your workflow.

- Customizable Tags – Admin users can create an unlimited number of tags to fit their business needs.
- Job Tag Management – Tags can be added, edited, merged, and removed from the Tag Manager (Company > Customizations > Tag Management).
- Easy Assignment – Tags can be added to jobs when they are created or updated later.
- Quick Identification – Tags appear within the job details and scheduling board for easy visibility.
- Filtering & Reporting – Users can filter jobs by tags in Job Reports and other relevant areas.
- Mobile App Visibility – Tags are visible to technicians in the mobile app for better job tracking.
How to Create and Manage Job Tags
There are two ways to create and manage Job Tags in Sera:
Option 1: From the Tag Manager Page
1. Navigate to Company > Customizations > Tag Management.
2.Click the Add Tag button.
3.Enter a tag name and select a color from the available options.
4.Click Save, and the tag will be available for use.
Option 2: Directly on a Job
1.Open an existing job.
2.Locate the Tags section.
3.Select an existing tag or create a new one on the spot.
4.Click Save, and the tag will be applied to the job.
How to Assign Tags to Jobs
Adding a Tag
1.Open a job record.
2.Click on the Tags section.
3.Choose from the list of available tags or create a new one.
4.Click Save, and the tag will be added to the job.
Removing a Tag
1.Open the job record.
2.Locate the Tags section and click the next to the tag you want to remove.
3.Click Save, and the tag will be removed.
Where Can You See Job Tags?
- Job Details Page – Job Tags appear at the top of the job details screen, making them easy to identify at a glance.
- Scheduling & Dispatch Board – Tags can be seen when hovering over jobs in the dispatch board to help schedulers quickly understand job requirements.
- Reports – Job Tags can be used as a filter in reports to track job types, priorities, and trends over time. View and export jobs in the following reports:

1. How many tags can I create?
Jobs are limited to a maximum of 5 tags each. Each tag name is limited to 20 characters.
2. Why am I seeing a tag I don’t recognize on a job?
If another user in your company created a tag, it becomes available for selection by all users. The tag list is shared across your organization.
4. Will technicians see job tags in the mobile app?
Currently, customer and job tags are visible to Admin users only. This feature is currently in development and will be released soon.
