The two main ways that companies will schedule multiple technicians for the same job are by using work crews or adding additional appointments.
Create the Technician as a Work Crew
By blocking off a technician's time and adding them as a member of a work crew, you can ensure proper time tracking for your technicians.
Under Department Name ---> Work Crew, create a Crew Member account for the helper technician using their name and phone number.
On the helper technician’s schedule on the dispatch board, mark them as unavailable/off for the time they will be acting as a Crew Member, so the scheduler does not assign appointments to them. Assign the Crew Member to the technician they will be helping. This will ensure that the technician's time is accurately tracked as a helper on the job. This method will not dispatch the helper technician. Rather, this method blocks off time on the dispatch board for them to do the job. An admin will still need to tell the technician where to go.
Add an Additional Appointment on the Job
Another method for adding two technicians on the same job is to add an additional appointment. A user would pin the additional appointment to the helper technician. This would ensure that the helper technician would get dispatched to the correct address without the office telling them where to go.
Navigate to the Job screen, and select Add Additional Appointment. Select the Helper Technician, and schedule it for the correct time.
Note: Depending on your company settings, the customer may receive two "Your Technician is On the Way" emails and text messages - one for each of the assigned technicians.
